An introduction into the heart of vital foods…

Vital Foods, my first published cookbook, came from a place of joy and simplicity.

After graduating from college, I felt a deep calling to start my own business. I knew I had an innate passion for teaching, cooking, and writing, so I took time to meditate on how I could share my gifts with others. One day, it came through clearly… “write a cookbook!” What better way to combine all of the things I love?

Within one month the layout was finished and around 50 recipes were compiled in a PDF. I had found what some call “flow state.” Throughout the writing journey, I experienced the ebbs and flows of the creative process and discovered what it means to move forward as an artist. I began to love creativity in all of its forms, expressing my art through food, music, and day to day rhythms.

My dear friend, Esther Otis, played an instrumental part in the cookbook, as she brought each recipe to life through her lens. We enjoyed laughing, taking photos, and creating funny content. Slowly and steadily, the pages began to fill in. Another source of inspiration came from my close friend and mentor, Song Ebbesen. Song showed me that hospitality, cooking, and baking could be effortless. Words cannot describe how thankful I am for my family and friends.

Most importantly, if I could convey one message through Vital Foods, it would be this:

We were designed for community, connection, and meals around the dinner table. We were designed to return to the very essence of life that draws us near and calls us home. The world is saturated with conflicting health information and discouraging advice, but the way to healing is really straightforward and full of peace.

I am so grateful to share Vital Foods with you. Thank you for your endless support.

Blessings,

Kamryn Corine
