Food & Life Around the Dinner Table

What if the dinner table wasn’t merely about the food we ate, but the conversations we made and the relationships we cherished?

What if life around the dinner table could bring healing & joy to our communities?

I truly believe there is something sacred about sharing a meal with others.

Taking time to slow down and enjoy helps us to reconnect with our surroundings and relate through conversation and story. The dinner table reminds us that we are never alone in our human experience - that others are walking alongside us.

When you look at various cultures throughout time, you see the celebration of life that takes place around the dinner table - how food and drink draw people near. Creativity and unique gifts exist in each person, and as we lean more into our design, we see that each has a seat at the table.

Life is a gift - a miracle to be celebrated. I believe the things we choose to create from the Spirit can awaken the heart and bring life to the physical world. Art and creativity can bridge the physical and spiritual, calling us closer to home.

Author and artist, Makoto Fujimura, writes this about creation and stewardship:

“Effective stewardship leads to generative work and a generative culture. We turn wheat into bread—and bread into community. We turn grapes into wine—and wine into occasions for joyful camaraderie, conviviality, conversation, and creativity. We turn minerals into paints—and paints into works that lift the heart or stir the spirit. We turn ideas and experiences into imaginative worlds for sheer enjoyment and to expand the scope of our empathy.”

Just imagine the beauty we can create through our stories and testimonies —

So what are you creating today?

What are you sharing with the world?
