Notes on Preparing Herbal Tea

Drinking herbal tea is an excellent way to support health and receive a proper source of vitamins and minerals.

Below are some of my personal tips for sourcing and preparing herbal tea:

  1. Buy loose leaf tea

    — Purchasing loose leaf tea reduces your exposure to microplastics and toxins, as tea bags often contain harmful chemicals. Instead of sourcing pre-packaged tea, purchase a stainless steel tea strainer.

  2. Support local, organic farmers (when possible)

    — Supporting local allows you to connect with farmers and community, while also ensuring the quality of herbs is excellent.

  3. Use filtered/distilled water

    — Clean, filtered water is essential for herbal tea, as tap water contains fluoride and chlorine, which can disrupt health and hormone balance.

  4. Avoid products with aluminum

    — Choose dish ware made with glass or stainless steel to limit exposure to aluminum.
